Igor is very funny…he is with us at the Hemophilia Center of Sao paulo  from the day he was borned.

At first he was afraid of needles , natural… and then little by little he was trained by our nurse  Eliane and he got more confidence by playing with the Flash cards HEMOACTION (this card is number 27) and he smiled when I asked him: “ah ..Igor is in this phase now??” NOWADAYS…THINGS  are smoother..he likes to come to the Center and we wellcome him! Bravo Igor.:)

No começo Igor tinha muito medo de tudo, claro que de agulhas também. Ficava muito grudado na mamãe Sylvia…ele é muito engraçado, esperto…e vai para escolinha! Fomos fazendo nosso trabalho de conscientização e aprendizagem la no centro de hemofilia: com a Eliane e a equipe ele foi se acostumando as agulhas de auto-infusão de fator e aos poucos…se soltando e ficando feliz. Parabéns!

EMOTIONS : “strong feeling of any kind, excitement or disturbance of the mind or the feelings…”

Emotions can be FEAR, JEALOUSY, LOVE, JOY, ENVY, RAGE.…. and as the dictionary tells us , they can lead to excitement or disturb us!

IT DEPENDS ON US HOW WE ARE GOING TO SIGNIFICATE THEM!

example 1: I feel jealous

a) I can significate that as : I LOVE the object of my jealousy (my mom, my girlfriend, my dad, my friend…) and I don’t want to lose his , her love for me. That’s a good thing

or b) I can significate that feeling as : I start to be agressive, possessive and annoying with the person

that make me feel that way. Some people don’t like to feel in-love because it make them feel without total control of the relationship and they are exposed to the beloved!

Jealousy as well as envy as rage…and all the “bad boys of feelings” can be used in a POSITIVE and CONSTRUCTIVE way. We have to understand WHY and WHAT FOR they are appearing to us.

E como EDUCAÇÃO: ” processo de desenvolvimento da capacidade física, intelectual e moral da criança”

Ter acesso a EDUCAÇÃO é um direito e um dever de TODOS.

Na hemofilia, recomendo sempre (e sou chata de tão repetitiva) APRENDER a explicar de uma maneira simples O QUE É HEMOFILIA !!

Acho que se uma pessoa SABE SE EXPRESSAR tranquilamente, com segurança à respeito da sua condição de saúde, ela consegue MAIS respeito e mais amigos também.

Uma pessoa EDUCADA sobre si mesma transmite auto-respeito, e se sente mais SEGURA para conseguir o que quer.

o QUE é HEMOFILIA? pergunto sempre para CHECAR com meus pacientes…

cada um responde e aprimora a sua resposta a cada vez, e a cada vez vejo como eles FLUEM e se sentem mais à vontade!

hemofilia é assim: “QUANDO ME MACHUCO E SANGRO, DEMORO MAIS TEMPO DO QUE VOCÊ para parar de sangrar….falta alguma coisa no meu sangue que se chama Fator….não é bom para mim demorar em tomar esse fator..preciso me infundir o fator para coagular e sarar mais rapidamente….”

HEMOACTION travels all over Brazil / HEMOAÇÃO viaja pelo Brasil

Mrs Lana Pereira Serrano loves her work at Baxter Hospital area: she travels all the Northern region of Brazil to distribute educational material for the Hemophilia Centers. She interacts with the care agents -psychologists, nurses, socialworkers- to present the flashcards and practice together.

The wonderful thing is to see that my work is transformed in a big board or used as a game by amplifying each card and use it as a quizz game!!!

I’ll will send more data about the profile of the care agents in another post. ENJOY THE PICTURES: the board was made by the hemophilia center in Maceio and the second pic was an event for children with hemophilia and their siblings in Goiânia.

This slowness make the bleedings longer and this is harmful for the person with hemophilia. To clot quicker and stop the bleeding Factor replacement therapy is needed.
